The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security apparatuses for persisting in arresting citizens who were released from Israeli jails describing such a practice as a &ldquoreprehensible crime that will not be condoned by the Palestinian people.&rdquo
In a statement on Monday Hamas stressed the need for all the national institutions and parties to respect and protect the Palestinian people’s values and sacrifices.
The Movement also called for necessarily and immediately putting an end to what it described as &ldquothe crime of political arrest&rdquo against ex-detainees and activists in order to maintain the civil peace and the national unity in the Palestinian arena.
It urged all the Palestinian political forces and factions and civil and human rights organizations to take urgent action to pressure the PA leadership to stop such violations.
Last night PA security forces kidnaped an ex-detainee and his son from their home in Nablus city.
Over 57 citizens are being held for politically motivated reasons in different PA jails in the West Bank according to the family committee of political detainees.
