Israeli court postpones session on isolated prisoner Manasra

Wednesday 13-September-2023

An Israeli court postponed on Wednesday morning a special session to study a petition asking it to reconsider a verdict extending the isolation of prisoner Ahmed Manasra.

According to Asra Media Office the Ramla prison court decided to adjourn the special session on Manasra until September 20.

The court was supposed to study a request calling for revoking the solitary confinement of prisoner Manasra.

According to lawyer Khaled Zabarqa Ahmed’s health and psychological condition is getting worse and worse compared to previous months.

Zabarqa stressed that the continued detention of Manasra in solitary confinement is a crime and demanded that the utmost efforts be made to rescue him and have him released.

Manasra who was arrested in 2015 when he was a 13-year-old child has been in an isolation cell for nearly two years.

He and his 15-year-old cousin have been accused of stabbing two Israelis in the illegal Pisgat Ze&rsquoev settlement in the occupied West Bank.

His cousin was shot dead at the scene whereas Ahmad sustained serious head injuries after he was hit by a car and assaulted by settlers.
