The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) has accused the Israeli prison service (IPS) of persisting in medically neglecting prisoner Mohamed al-Khatib from Tulkarem which made his health worsen further.
According to PPS prisoner Khatib suffers from severe back problems (serious herniated disc) and needs diagnostic imaging before receiving medical treatment.
&ldquoThe suffering of prisoner Khatib who has been in jail since 2003 serving a 21-year sentence started over two years ago. He has faced since then stages of medical neglect which made his movement extremely difficult and made him dependent on a wheelchair and his fellow inmates to meet his needs not to mention the severe pains that deprive him of sleep around the clock&rdquo PPS added.
