Deputy head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has revealed that a meeting will be held today Saturday by the ad hoc follow-up committee to discuss the ceasefire efforts in the Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon.
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Saturday Abu Marzouk said that the follow-up committee is comprised of officials from the Lebanese parliament’s presidency the general security directorate the military intelligence the Palestinian embassy and the Hamas Movement.
He affirmed that this committee would work on having the ceasefire agreement implemented on the ground and ensuring the safe return of Palestinian refugees to the camp.
On Friday a high-level delegation from Hamas led by Abu Marzouk visited Sidon City and met with local officials.
During those meetings Abu Marzouk highlighted the need to firm up the ceasefire agreement end the presence of armed groups in Ein al-Hilweh and help the displaced refugees to return to their homes.
During its presence in Sidon the Hamas delegation also visited the Palestinian refugees who fled the hostilities in the camp.
