More than 2000 attacks were carried out by Jewish settlers and Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the West Bank over the past month rights sources revealed on Thursday.
The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission Moayed Shaaban affirmed in a periodic report that 2074 IOF and settler attacks were carried out in October 2023 in a dangerous escalation against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
523 attacks were reported in Occupied Jerusalem 224 in Nablus and 205 in al-Khalil according to the report.
Over the past month 390 settler attacks were carried out in the West Bank claiming the lives of nine Palestinians; six of them were killed in one single attack in Qusra town.
The Israeli attacks also led to the enforced displacement of nine Palestinian Bedouin communities consisting of 100 families including 810 individuals.
The report pointed out that 126 violent attacks were carried out against Palestinian farmers and olive pickers.
712 trees including 532 olive trees were uprooted during the attacks.
The report further highlighted that 5382 dunums of Palestinian lands were confiscated during the same reported period.
Shaaban underlined that the Israeli occupation is taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the war on the Gaza Strip to escalate attacks and settlement plans in the West Bank.
