Another Palestinian prisoner died on Monday in the Israeli jail of Megiddo bringing to five martyrs the number of detainees that are believed to have been tortured to death since Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” started on October 7.
In a statement the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) claimed that a 33-year-old detainee from the West Bank died after feeling unwell without stating his name.
Recently IPS launched a repressive campaign against the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails at the behest of far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Many citizens were also savagely assaulted during their detention by Israeli forces in recent West Bank raids.
In a related context senior Hamas official Zaher Jabareen accused the Israeli occupation authority of committing serious crimes against the Palestinian prisoners in its jails as part of a previous plan set by Ben Gvir to suppress and execute detainees.
Jabareen said that IPS started a real massacre against the Palestinian prisoners in its jails killing five of them in recent weeks adding that the prisoners are exposed to daily assaults by Israeli jailers and forces.
