The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed in large numbers Jenin city north of the West Bank closed all its entrances and isolated it from the surrounding towns and villages which led to the outbreak of fierce clashes late on Thursday.
Local sources reported that Israeli troops accompanied by special units and military bulldozers stormed the city from several entrances.
Violent clashes erupted during the raids the sources added.
The IOF stormed several neighborhoods in the city while snipers were stationed on the roofs of a number of homes and buildings.
Meanwhile military bulldozers started leveling the roads destroying the infrastructure and damaging a number of citizens’ vehicles resulting in a total power outage and communications disruption.
The IOF also stormed the vicinity of Jenin Governmental Hospital amid heavy use of teargas bombs. Several people suffered from teargas inhalation during the attack.
Similar raids were also reported in the neighboring towns and villages.
In al-Khalil two young men were severely beaten by IOF soldiers after storming the Carmel archaeological area and several areas in Masafer Yatta south of the city.
The IOF also stormed Wadi Ajhish and Al-Tuba areas in Masafer Yatta raided several local homes and briefly detained their owners.
The IOF also broke into Husan village west of Bethlehem and turned it into a military barracks.
