The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) confiscated 1,500 dunums of Palestinian land in Husan and Wadi Fukin towns, west of Bethlehem, and Al-Jab’a town, south of the city, on Tuesday evening.
The director of the Bethlehem Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission office, Hassan Brijieh, said the IOF seized 1,500 dunums for the benefit of opening a settler-only road that runs from Husan Village through the village of Wadi Fukin and al-Jab’a to Surif town, northwest of al-Khalil.
Brijieh maintained that this road would have disastrous implications, including the confiscation and destruction of Palestinian-owned land.
He also warned of the decision’s negative effects on the Palestinian environment in general and its clear impact on the western countryside of Bethlehem Governorate.
