The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has seized 501dunums of Palestinian-owned land in Jaba town, northeast of Jerusalem.
“The IOA has announced the annexation of 501 dunums of land belonging to citizens from Jaba in Jerusalem governorate, claiming they are state land,” the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said on Thursday.
Head of the Commission Muayad Shaaban said that the Israeli annexation of these dunums as state land is aimed at creating geographical contiguity between the illegal settlements of Adam and Geva Binyamin and paving the way to expand more settlements in the future without paying attention to the Palestinian landowners’ rights and the international law.
Shaaban added that the annexation of these lands is part of a larger plan aimed at controlling the eastern slopes of the West Bank, especially those adjacent to the Jordan Valley.
He called on the citizens who own these annexed lands to visit the Commission’s offices in order to prepare legal files as quickly as possible to have the Israeli military order nullified.
