Yemen’s armed forces said on Wednesday that its naval forces along with its missile and drone forces carried out a joint military operation against a US ship that “was providing support for the Israeli occupation state.”
In a statement, the Yemeni armed forces added that it attacked the US ship with a large number of ballistic and naval missiles and drones.
“The operation came as an initial response to the treacherous attack that our naval forces had been exposed to by the US enemy forces on Sunday, the 18th of Jumada al-Thani 1445 AH (December 31, 2023),” the armed forces stated.
The armed forces stressed that it would not hesitate to deal proportionately with all hostile threats as part of their legitimate right to defend their country, people and nation.
“The Yemeni armed forces will continue to prevent Israeli ships or those heading for the ports of occupied Palestine from navigating the Arab and Red Seas until the aggression and siege against our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip come to a halt.”
