IOF carries out new arrest campaign in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a new raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank at dawn Friday, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.

In Qalqilya, Israeli special forces arrested the ex-prisoner Habib Haddad after opening fire at his vehicle in the Al-Dhahr neighborhood.

Military reinforcements were sent to the city, spread in the Al-Dhahr neighborhood and a number of surrounding streets after a special unit infiltrated into the city in a civilian car, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.

The IOF seized the ex-prisoner’s vehicle and brutally attacked him and his friend, who was later released.

Red Crescent ambulance was prevented from reaching the area.

In Tulkarem, the IOF stormed Anabta town and spread in several neighborhoods before breaking into a number of local homes.

At least one young man was detained during the raids, while several others were subjected to field investigation.

In Tubas, special forces stormed Aqaba town and arrested a local resident after violently raiding and searching his family house.

Meanwhile, a large-scale raid and arrest campaign was carried out in Jenin. 15 local houses were stormed during the campaign, while dozens of youths were detained.

In Ramallah, the IOF stormed the Jalazoun refugee camp amid heavy firing of teargas bombs.

Similar raids were also reported in Bethlehem and al-Khalil.
