“Israel’s betting on striking the internal front in Gaza by committing more crimes against security personnel is a losing bet and will not succeed in creating a state of chaos and a security vacuum,” the Hamas Movement said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Movement decried the Israeli occupation army’s assassination of the head of the Emergency Committee in Rafah, Nidal Sheikh Eid, and the deputy head of police operations, Mahmoud Abu Hasna, calling it a criminal act.
“The Israeli assassination is aimed at disturbing the Palestinian internal front and creating a state of chaos that would prevent any attempt to provide relief to the displaced in Gaza,” the statement added.
Hamas praised the Gazan families and clans’ position in support of the resistance, the government, and its police and security services in addition to their refusal of accepting the Israeli plans aimed at establishing coordination committees deviant from the Palestinian national position.
