The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on Saturday that thousands of patients in Gaza continue to be deprived of health care, with only 10 hospitals operating on a limited basis.
WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on the X platform, “We urge Israel to speed up approval to evacuate patients and enable those in critical condition to receive treatment.”
“So far, more than 3,400 patients have been transferred abroad through the Rafah crossing, including 2,198 wounded,” he added.
He pointed out that “about 9,000 patients urgently need to be evacuated abroad for lifesaving health services.”
