Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq has categorically denied what was claimed by some media outlets that his Movement accepts the presence of UN elements charged with monitoring the ceasefire and the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Monday, Resheq described claims made in this regard by Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath satellite channel as “unfounded and untrue.”
The Hamas official affirmed that his Movement only demands the presence of international bodies and organizations in Gaza, especially UNRWA, to deliver aid and assistance.
As for a ceasefire, he stressed the need for countries guaranteeing that the Israeli occupation would honor any agreement reached in this regard.
He reiterated that the Palestinian people reject any presence of non-Palestinian parties on their land.
