A human rights organization revealed on Monday that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have abducted 3,000 Palestinians, including women, children, the elderly, and doctors, from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli brutal aggression against the besieged enclave in October last year.

Al-Mizan Center for Human Rights said, “Around 1,650 Palestinians from Gaza are currently incarcerated in solitary confinement in Israeli prisons, under the Unlawful Combatant Law, which was issued in 2002 and amended last December, depriving detainees of their rights to judicial reviews and fair trials.”

“The detainees are languishing in solitary cells in Nafha and Negev Israeli prisons. Israeli occupation authority (IOA) does not allow information on the prisoners to be shared and denies them any form of legal representation,” the center explained.

The human rights center indicated that “the IOA transferred another 300 detainees from Gaza, including 10 children, to Ashkelon and Ofer prisons.”

It confirmed that “all detainees had been subjected to torture and degrading treatment since the moment of arrest, all the way to the investigation centers.”

The center quoted a detainee as saying that during interrogation, Israeli forces resorted to extreme measures such as ripping out three of his fingernails and unleashing police dogs on him.

Al-Mizan Center called on the international community to “assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards the occupied Palestinian territories, enforce the provisions of international law, protect civilians, especially detainees, and stop the crimes of torture in Israeli prisons and detention centers.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation army has been waging its genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, with the US and European support, leading to the martyrdom of 33,797 people and the injury of 76,465 others, in addition to the displacement of about 85 percent of the Strip’s population, according to the Strip’s authorities and international bodies and organizations.
