The Hamas Movement said the horrific testimonies by a large number of Palestinians recently released from Israeli prisons, including children as young as twelve years old, prove the brutality of the Israeli occupation army.

In a press statement on Tuesday, the Movement denounced the exposure of Palestinian detainees to various types of torture, ill-treatment, and deprivation of health care, which caused health complications for many of them to the extent that some cases required limb amputations.

The Movement said that the Israeli violations committed against defenseless civilians fall within the framework of war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that “these crimes will remain a disgrace that haunts this entity, and will always be a witness to its fascist behavior that is far from human values.”

Hamas called on international human rights institutions, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross, to take action and reveal the fate of thousands of Palestinian detainees who were abducted by the Israeli occupation army from Gaza.

It also stressed the need to document the testimonies narrated by released prisoners about torture and brutal practices they were subjected to in Israeli custody, and to submit these testimonies to competent international courts to hold those responsible on the torture crimes accountable.
