Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat al-Resheq has said that the Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip have proven during the battle of Al-Aqsa Flood and over six months of war that they are “the roaring voice of their people, who are aspiring to freedom, independence and liberation from the occupation.”
“Each one of them has become a mountain of patience, sacrifice and dedication, conveying the true voice and image of our people’s steadfastness and fortitude on their land and exposing the crimes of the Zionist enemy and the genocidal war it is waging on defenseless civilians,” Resheq said in press remarks on Saturday.
The Hamas official talked about journalist Anas ash-Sharif who was granted recently the “Courage Award” for his heroism and bravery in covering the Israeli war crimes in Gaza, applauding the great efforts made by him and other journalists to convey the truth and expose the misleading Israeli propaganda despite their exposure to systematic targeting and attacks.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has killed 140 journalists, injured many others and destroyed dozens of media institutions across the Gaza Strip.
