An Israeli captive held by Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Movement, in the Gaza Strip, delivered a message to Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his government asking them to make every effort to return him and the rest of the captives home.
The captive Hersh Goldberg-Polin said in a video recording released by the Al-Qassam Brigades on Wednesday addressing the Israeli Prime Minister and members of his government, “Do what is expected from you and return us home immediately. Has this become too much for you?!”
“You should be ashamed of yourselves for neglecting us for 200 days and for the failure of all the army’s efforts [to release the captives]. You should be ashamed because you rejected all the deals that were offered to you”, he added.
Polin whose left hand appeared missing said, “Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed 70 Israeli captives, don’t you want to end this nightmare?”
“While you hold lunch parties with your families, think about us. We are detained in underground hell without food, water, or sun, and without the treatment I have needed for a long time.”
He asked the Israeli officials to leave their posts, saying: “It is time to hand over the keys, vacate the ministries, and sit in your homes.”
He concluded his speech by sending a message to his family asking them to continue their action to put pressure on the government, saying, “Do not stop until we all return home safely.”
This video comes one day after a video speech by Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Obaida in which he said, “it has become clear that the enemy government is procrastinating in reaching an exchange deal, trying to obstruct the efforts of the mediators to reach a ceasefire, and misleading its people regarding this file.”
