The member of the Hamas Political Bureau, Ezzat Al-Resheq, expressed his concern over reports saying that a helicopter carrying Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and other local officials was involved in a “crash upon landing” in Azerbaijan Province, eastern Iran, on Sunday.
Our hearts are with the Iranian nation, Al-Resheq said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“We pray to the Almighty to save the president, the foreign minister, and their companions.”
Earlier Sunday, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency declared that President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were on board the helicopter that suffered a “hard landing” in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province.
Information is still slowly emerging on the incident, as rescue teams continue the search for the helicopter.
