The Government Media Office (GMO) has described the alleged tactical ceasefire in southern Gaza in order to allow humanitarian aid deliveries as an “Israeli lie.”
“The situation in the northern Gaza Strip is catastrophic in light of shortages of food and medicines, and we still call for the opening of the Rafah border crossing to provide the population with their needs, especially those in the northern Gaza Strip,” GMO said in a statement on Monday.
GMO pointed out that the Israeli occupation army had killed over 16,000 children during its ongoing war on Gaza, and recently destroyed the passenger waiting halls at the Rafah crossing.
The Israeli army claimed Sunday that it would pause fighting throughout daytime hours along a road in southern Gaza to allow UN agencies to deliver humanitarian aid.
However, it added that the pause should not be seen as a cessation of its attacks in southern Gaza.
