The health ministry in the Gaza Strip has appealed to UN and international organizations to swiftly intervene to provide hospitals in the war-torn coastal territory with their needs of medications and medical supplies to save lives of wounded civilians and patients.

In a statement on Tuesday, the health ministry said that hospitals and health centers suffer from acute shortages of medications and life-saving medical supplies in the midst of the ongoing Israeli aggression and siege.

The health ministry affirmed that the medications used for emergency, anesthesia, intensive care and surgeries became out of stock or almost ran out.

The health ministry pointed to the suffering of patients with tumors who need to travel abroad for medical treatment, saying they are only provided with palliative treatment.

The medical shortages in Gaza are also threatening the lives of more than 1,000 dialysis patients, especially children, according to the health ministry.

The health ministry also highlighted the need for medications used to provide primary health services for mothers, children, and people with chronic diseases and other health problems.
