The Palestinian people are the only ones to determine the future of Gaza Strip and not the Israelis or the Americans, Hamas spokesperson Jihad Taha said in a press statement on Tuesday evening.
He said that the US bias in favor of Israel was clear since day one of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, adding that the US administration should pressure Israel to end its aggression and abide by international resolutions in this regard.
The US state department had issued a statement earlier Tuesday saying that it does not want Hamas to rule in the Gaza Strip after the end of the war.
Taha, meanwhile, said that mediations were still ongoing to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal.
The Hamas official said that the ball now is in Israel’s court and it should abide by the international resolutions and stop its aggression.
