Euro-Med: Israel uses displaced Gazans as a political pressure tool

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has accused the Israeli army of using the displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip as a tool of political pressure and blackmail through expanding the circle of killing, starving and targeting them in the midst of ceasefire talks.

In a statement on Wednesday, Euro-Med said that the Israeli occupation army systematically targets shelter centers and the areas around them, carries out mass killing operations against displaced families and civilians, prevents those were forcibly displaced from returning to their homes, persists in starving them and depriving them of basic needs that are indispensable for survival, and bans the entry of humanitarian aid.

Euro-Med described such Israeli practices against the civilians in Gaza as “insistence on committing the crime of genocide against them with all means.”

“At around 6:55 p.m. yesterday, Israeli aircraft fired several missiles at a group of residents and displaced people, who have been exhausted by repeated forced displacement and movement from one place to another, at the Gate of Al-Awda School in Abasan al-Kabira town in eastern Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip — which is sheltering thousands of forcibly displaced people,” Euro-Med said.

Euro-Med said the Israeli attack on this school killed at least 32 civilians, including many children and women with some of them shattered into pieces, and injured more than 50 others.

Euro-Med said that its initial information, which was obtained after inspecting fragments of the bombs used in the attack on this school confirmed they were US-made missiles, which had been repeatedly used in a number of previous mass killing operations against Gaza civilians.

Euro-Med denounced “the international silence over Israel’s genocidal crimes that have been taking place since last October.”
