The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said the 40 prisoners who were released on Thursday from Israeli occupation prisons obviously suffer from deteriorated health conditions, noting that some of them were transferred to hospitals shortly after their release, especially among the prisoners who were released from the Negev desert prison.

The PPS revealed in a statement that “some of the released detainees suffer from skin diseases, specifically those released from the Negev prison.”

“The initial after-release photos showed the freed prisoners in different looking compared to their before-arrest photos. They have greatly differed as a result of systematic torture crimes they were subjected to,” the PPS said, noting that some of them were transferred to hospitals shortly after their release.”

Over 40 prisoners were released on Thursday from several Israeli jails including some of the administrative detainees and those who ended their sentences.

Some of them were set free at the Dhahiriya military checkpoint in the city of Al-Khalil, others were released near Ofer prison west of Ramallah and in front of Salem military checkpoint in the city of Jenin.

On the other hand, Israeli occupation forces continue to arrest more Palestinians every day, with more than 10,200 prisoners being detained from the West Bank and thousands of others rounded up from Gaza Strip since October 7 last year.
