At least nine Palestinian citizens were martyred and several others were injured at dawn Wednesday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale campaign in Jenin and Tubas, amid violent clashes with resistance fighters.

The Palestinian health ministry said that ambulances evacuated seven martyrs to the Tubas Hospital and two martyrs to the Jenin Hospital.

For its part, the Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews evacuated nine martyrs and 13 wounded citizens following Israeli attacks in Tubas, Jenin and Tulkarem.

The Red Crescent explained that its ambulance transferred four martyrs and eight wounded citizens from al-Fari’ah refugee camp in Tubas, five martyrs and two wounded citizens from Jenin, and three other citizens with injuries from Tulkarem.

Earlier, local sources said that an Israeli drone bombed a car traveling between the villages of Sir and Misilyah in southern Jenin, killing three young men identified as Sa’eid al-Wahdan, Mohamed Abu Zamiro and Ahmed as-Sous.

In Tubas, local sources reported the martyrdom of four young citizens, including two children, and the injury of others in a drone attack at dawn in al-Fari’ah camp.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army announced it started at dawn a large-scale ground and air operation in Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.

The operation, which started early on Wednesday, involved hundreds of ground soldiers supported by fighter aircraft, drones and bulldozers, targeting three areas simultaneously – Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas in the Jordan Valley.

Widespread destruction to public and private property was reported during the IOF operation in the targeted areas.

The IOF described the operation in the north of the West Bank as the biggest of its kind since 2002.

Resistance fighters, mainly from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas and al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad, responded to the IOF raids by detonating explosive devices at Israeli forces and vehicles and showering them with bullets, according to sources from the resistance in Jenin and Tulkarem.
