The Israeli occupation army said on Thursday morning that its forces killed five Palestinian resistance fighters in Tulkarem during its operation in the West Bank, which entered its second day.

A spokesperson for the Israeli army said that Israeli forces with the help of the police and the Shin Bet security agency killed five gunmen inside a mosque in the West Bank city of Tulkarem overnight.

Among those killed, the Israeli army identified Mohamed Jaber, known as Abu Shuja, the commander of the Nur Shams Brigade that is affiliated with the armed wing of Islamic Jihad.

There is still no Palestinian confirmation about the Israeli assassination of five resistance fighters inside a Mosque in Tulkarem.

In a related context, 21-year-old Majd Dawoud, a university student, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers during its raid in Nur Shams camp before withholding his body and preventing ambulance crews from entering the camp.

Special Israeli forces also infiltrated into the camp and kidnaped a young man identified as Mohamed Qassass after opening fire at him and injuring him. The Israeli army claimed he was wanted.

Yesterday, an elderly citizen was shot dead by Israeli sniper fire during his presence inside his house in Nur Shams camp.

In Jenin, the Palestinian health ministry announced that 35-year-old Firas Alaqimah died of a bullet injury he sustained during the Israeli military raid in the city.

Alaqimah’s death brought to seven the number of the victims that were killed yesterday by Israeli forces in Jenin City.

Early on Wednesday, the Israeli army started a large-scale operation in the northern West Bank, particularly in Jenin, Tulkarem and Fari’ah refugee camp near Tubas, killing and injuring several people and causing widespread destruction to public and private property.
