Since last August, the Israeli occupation army bombed 16 Palestinian schools in the Gaza Strip, 15 of them in the north of Wadi Gaza, killing about 217 civilians and injuring hundreds, including a large number of women and children, the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said on Sunday.
In a statement, Euro-Med said it documented a dangerous escalation in Israel’s systematic targeting of schools that are used as shelter centers for forcibly displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Euro-Med pointed out that eight civilians were killed and many others suffered injuries in Israeli attacks on two schools, Halima Sa’diyya and Amr Ibn al-Aas, in northern Gaza on Saturday.
Euro-Med accused the Israeli army of escalating its attacks on civilians in the last week in Gaza City and northern Gaza through targeting homes, gatherings, vendors, shelter centers and the areas around them.
Euro-Med also accused the US and many European countries of being complicit in the crimes that are committed by Israel against the Palestinians, especially in Gaza.
Euro-Med appealed to the international community to shoulder their responsibilities and put an end to Israel’s genocidal war and its serious crimes in Gaza.
