The preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, called for mobilization at Al-Aqsa Mosque after an Israeli settler group called the “Temple Mount Activists” posted an AI video of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem burning to the ground.
Sheikh Sabri said in a press statement that the video confirms the goals and plans of the far-right extremist groups aiming at the destruction of Al-Aqsa Mosque and taking full control over the holy site, warning of real implementation of such Israeli plans.
The video clip that was published on Thursday on the settler group’s account on X shows the Dome of the Rock of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings burning, with a caption that reads the phrase: “absolute victory”, before republishing it again with the caption: “Coming soon in these days”.
The AI video raised a state of anger and shock among social media activists who considered it as an “alarm bell” that calls for a real decisive action regarding what is going on at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Dr. Abdullah Maarouf, wrote in a post on X, wondering: “What the Islamic world has been waiting for in order to get to move and protect the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque before the disaster takes place?”
Dima Halawani, re-posted the video on X, and wrote: “This video is a dangerous precedent!”
The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, had previously announced his intention to build a Jewish synagogue inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
