The Hamas Movement said on Sunday that the resistance operation carried out at the Damascus Gate area in Occupied Jerusalem is a natural response to the ongoing brutal Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.
Hamas emphasized in a press statement that the stabbing attack is also a normal response to the Israeli violations and the escalating threats against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and Occupied Jerusalem, in light of the criminal fascist plans to build a Jewish synagogue inside the Mosque.
The Movement also hailed “the heroism and braveness of Palestinian youth and resistance fighters who continue to confront the Zionist terrorist killing machine.”
Hamas called on the masses of the Palestinian people, the valiant resistance fighters and revolutionary youth in the West Bank and Jerusalem, to escalate confrontations and resistance operations against Israeli occupation forces and settlers across occupied Palestinian territories, and to work to thwart their plans.
Israeli media announced that an Israeli soldier was slightly wounded in a stabbing operation that took place at the Damascus Gate in Occupied Jerusalem on Sunday evening, adding that Israeli border guards “neutralized” the young man.
According to local sources, the Israeli police forces closed all gates leading to the Aqsa Mosque following the incident.
