21st National Demonstration against Genocide in Gaza and Lebanon

Saturday 2-November-2024

LONDON, (PIC)

The Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB) has called for mass participation in the 21th National Demonstration Against Genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, scheduled for 12 PM on Saturday.

The march will begin in front of the UK government headquarters and proceed toward the US Embassy. Timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, this demonstration condemns Britain’s historic decision to allocate Palestinian land—land it did not own—to the Zionist movement, which had no legitimate claim, under the pretense of establishing a national home for the Jewish people.

This march is co-organized by the Palestinian Forum in Britain, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Stop the War Coalition (STW), Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA), the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). The event will open with a symbolic tribute to the martyrs of Gaza and Lebanon, with hundreds of protesters expected to join in solidarity.

Acting PFB Chairman Adnan Hmidan stated, “This march delivers an unequivocal message: we demand justice for the Palestinian people and an end to Britain’s complicity. We call on Foreign Secretary David Lammy to retract his recent statements, which shamefully downplay the horrific genocide unfolding against our people. The UK government must immediately halt all arms exports to the occupying forces fueling this genocide, and the international community must push for a ceasefire without delay. With the US elections approaching, we also urge voters to hold accountable those candidates who have supported, either through silence or policy, the ongoing occupation and oppression of Palestinians.”

The organizers anticipate a large turnout, with specific blocks for youth, trade unions, Jewish groups standing in solidarity with Gaza, Parents for Palestine, and many more. This march forms part of ongoing efforts to demand justice for the innocent and to bring war criminals to account, the PFB statement concluded.
