The Hamas Movement has mourned two senior Islamic Jihad officials, who were assassinated along with other members of the Movement on Thursday in an Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In a statement on Saturday, Hamas offered its sincere condolences to the Islamic Jihad leadership, stressing that the “cowardly assassination policy” pursued by the Israeli occupation would only increase the resistance’s determination to continue its struggle for liberation.

Hamas added that such ongoing Israeli crimes would not break the will of the Palestinian people and their adherence to the resistance option.

The Movement also said that the martyrs’ blood is “blessed and will not go in vain,” highlighting that the Palestinian people’s “march of sacrifice and resistance will continue until they remove the fascist Israeli occupation from their land and extract their rights to freedom and self-determination.”

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine announced on Saturday the martyrdom of its leaders, Abdul-Aziz al-Minawi and Youssef Abu Issa, in an Israeli airstrike.

Islamic Jihad explained that the two leaders were “martyred along with a group of its officials in a treacherous Zionist attack on the Movement’s civilian offices and apartments in Damascus last Thursday,” adding that “their bodies were recovered at dawn Saturday.”
