Hamas confirmed that the escalation of heroic resistance attacks in the occupied West Bank “once again proves that all of the (Israeli) enemy’s criminal projects will be shattered before the will and valor of this people and their heroic resistance.”
In a statement on Friday, Hamas emphasized that the recent shooting attack near the settlement of Ariel is a natural response to the ongoing crimes of the occupation against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, and the brutal genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Nine Israelis, including soldiers, were injured on Friday in an ambush targeting an occupation patrol and a bus near the Ariel settlement in the West Bank, an attack claimed by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. The incident occurred at the Gitai Avisar junction near the Ariel settlement, where a resistance fighter fired at a bus coming from Tel Aviv and an occupation police patrol.
Hamas said that the “heroic operation is a confirmation of the determination of our young revolutionaries and our brave resistance in the occupied West Bank to continue on the path of resistance and confront the fascist Zionist aggression.”
It added that the escalation of resistance attacks in the occupied West Bank “once again proves that all of the criminal projects of the Zionist enemy, and its attempts to subjugate our Palestinian people, break their will to resist, or displace them from their land and homes through brutal massacres in Gaza, incursions, raids, and sieges in the West Bank and Jerusalem, will be shattered before the will and valor of this people and their courageous resistance, and their free and noble youth.”
While Hamas mourned the perpetrator of the attack, the martyr Sheikh Samer Muhammad Hussein (46 years old) from the village of Ainbus south of Nablus, it indicated that resistance will continue and escalate in every inch of Palestinian land, despite the occupation’s measures, security tightening, and ongoing aggression.
The Movement praised the struggle and resistance of Palestinian youth in the occupied West Bank, calling on the masses to escalate confrontations with the occupation and its settlers, challenge its criminal army and its security and military measures, and to increase involvement in the flood of Al-Aqsa, “in support of our land and sanctities, our steadfast people in Gaza, and our right to freedom and the establishment of our independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”
In parallel with the ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army and its settlers have intensified their aggression against Palestinians and their properties in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the martyrdom of 796 people and injuries to more than 6,450 others, according to official Palestinian data.
