Gaza’s civil defense service said that one of its members was martyred along with his child and another one was injured in an Israeli airstrike on its headquarters in the central area of Gaza City on Tuesday afternoon.
The aerial attack on the civil defense headquarters claimed the life of firefighter Najeeb Sokkar and injured his only child, Mohamed. Sokkar was preparing food for his son when the strike happened.
Another firefighter was seriously injured in the same strike.
In last September, the Israeli occupation army carried out an aerial attack on the same fire station, injuring four civil defense workers.
A recent similar attack on another civil defense center in an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed four employees.
