The Hamas Movement has said the ongoing Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security campaign in the Jenin refugee camp, which led to the killing and executing of 19 citizens, portends severe consequences that may affect the Palestinian national and societal fabric.
In a statement on Friday, Hamas warned against the PA’s ignorance of all national and popular calls, and human rights demands to stop its pursuit of Palestinians and imposing repressive measures which only serve the Israeli occupation.
The Movement called on all components of society in the West Bank to immediately intervene to stop the bloodshed committed by the PA, and to exercise the utmost pressure to prevent more crimes and violations against the Palestinian people and their valiant resistance and make every effort to break the siege imposed on Jenin camp for the second month in a row.
Early Friday, attacks by PA’s security services were renewed on Jenin camp, amid ongoing siege for 37 days.
Local sources from the camp reported that the PA’s security forces fired flare bombs over the camp square, followed by the firing of several RPG shells targeting residents’ homes.
The sources explained that the situation in the camp has become more difficult as the siege continues for about 37 days, noting that PA’s snipers are stationed in Al-Qunairi building, shooting at the residents.
The number of martyrs who have been killed at the hands of the PA’s security forces in Jenin for 37 days surged to 19 martyrs including women and children, in addition to the arrest of dozens of citizens from Jenin Governorate, including nurses who were arrested just for offering treatment to the trapped camp’s residents.
