On Palestinian Children’s Day, the Hamas Movement has said that Israel’s crimes against Palestinian children are “imprescriptible,” calling for taking legal action against its leaders and adding its army to the UN list of shame.
In a statement on Saturday, Hamas called for prosecuting Israeli leaders as war criminals and making serious efforts to protect Palestinian children against the Israeli occupation regime’s “brutality and crimes.”
Hamas warned that impunity encourages the Israeli regime to escalate its crimes against innocent Palestinian children, condemning the international community and its human rights organizations for failing to take action to hold Israel accountable.
Hamas called on human rights group to shoulder their responsibilities towards Palestinian children through exposing Israel’s crimes against them and providing them with protection.
Hamas also accused the Israeli occupation of “systematically targeting Palestinian children by using them as human shields, depriving them of education, and attempting to undermine their national identity in 1948 occupied Palestine through tampering with curricula, spreading crime and destroying values.”
Since the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza Strip started in October 2023, about 19,000 children have been killed, some 39,000 have lost one or both parents and 1,100 others have been kidnaped or jailed. Famine, malnutrition and disease also threaten the lives of hundreds of them, according to the Movement.
