Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued their aggression against the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camp in the northern West Bank for the 93rd consecutive day on Tuesday, while the aggression against Nur Shams refugee camp has entered day 80.
The IOF has escalated its ground operations, carrying a relentless campaign of harassment and destruction targeting infrastructure and citizens’ property.
IOF bulldozers removed the landline telephone exchange near the Al-Saif House in the eastern suburb of Thennabeh and bulldozed the main street in the area.
The IOF raided a number of citizens’ homes in the eastern neighborhood and in the vicinity of the Firaun Garage in the southern neighborhood of the city, ransacking and vandalizing their contents, while more military reinforcements of vehicles and infantry units were deployed into the city as well as its camps and suburbs.
This was accompanied by heavy firing of live ammunition and stun grenades, raids on homes and shops, searches, sabotages, and the interrogation and arrest of residents.
In an unprecedented development, the IOF forced Palestinian Red Crescent Society crews to use ambulances as military roadblocks on the road to Thabet Thabet Government Hospital.
The IOF aggression and continued escalation against the city of Tulkarem and its two camps have resulted in the martyrdom of 13 citizens, in addition to the injury and arrest of dozens.
It also caused the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families from the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, comprising more than 25,000 citizens, in addition to hundreds of citizens from the northern and eastern neighborhoods of the city after seizing their homes and converting a number of them into military barracks.
The occupation forces completely destroyed 396 homes and partially destroyed 2,573 other houses in the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, in addition to closing their entrances and alleys with earth mounds.
