Dozens of Jewish settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday morning under heavy police protection.
Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem affirmed that 159 Jewish settlers stormed the Mosque via al-Magharibah gate.
During their tours at the Islamic holy site the settlers provocatively performed Talmudic prayers. Palestinian worshipers shouted Takbeer in protest.
The al-Aqsa Mosque is exposed to daily desecration by Jewish settlers and police forces in the morning and the afternoon except on Fridays and Saturdays.
In this regard Al-Aqsa Mosque Director Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani stressed in a statement on Wednesday that the Palestinians and Muslims will not allow the Israeli occupation authority to take control over any part of Al-Aqsa warning of a religious war in the region if such a plan was carried out.
