Two Palestinian young men were pronounced dead late on Monday evening in an Israeli air strike rocking Khan Younis province south of the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Red Crescent paramedics removed the bodies of two Palestinians killed east of al-Qarara east of Khan Younis province shortly after Israeli military warplanes hit the area.
The Israeli army prevented ambulances from reaching the scene for over one hour.
The Israeli military claimed in a statement that its warplanes struck gunmen as they came within the reach of the border fence separating Gaza from territories occupied in 1948 and implanted a suspicious object.
The names of the two slain Palestinians remain unidentified.
