At least 22 Palestinian citizens were injured and five others were arrested on Wednesday evening when Israeli police forces stormed Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Occupied Jerusalem and attacked protesters rallying in solidarity with the families threatened with displacement.
The Red Crescent said that 10 citizens suffered injuries during police assaults on Sheikh Jarrah residents and activists.
Five others some of them wounded were also rounded up during the police violence.
According to local sources police officers physically assaulted citizens as they were participating in a solidarity sit-in outside the homes which the Israeli occupation authority threatened to forcibly seize and evict their residents to make way for Jewish settlers.
Meanwhile police forces stormed the house of al-Kurd family one of those homes assaulted its residents and fired a tear gas canister inside it.
The police also sprayed the participants in the sit-in with skunk water and fired tear gas and stun grenades at them while a horde of Jewish settlers in the area chanted racist slurs against Arabs and called for expelling them from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
