The Israeli occupation army set up hundreds of surveillance cameras along an access road to Occupied Jerusalem Israeli outlets reported Tuesday.
According to the Hebrew-speaking Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper 270 security cameras were installed along Road 443 connecting southwestern Ramallah province to Occupied Jerusalem.
The move makes part of Israeli intents to monitor and limit “suspicious” activities in reference to anti-occupation activism and protests.
Live snapshots will be directly broadcast to an Israeli army emergency room operating around the clock.
According to Israeli data 61 anti-occupation operations were carried out by Palestinian protesters on Road 443 in 2016 down from 90 in 2015.
In 2016 hundreds of surveillance cameras had been set up by the Israeli occupation forces across Jerusalem province and near the holy al-Aqsa Mosque—Muslims’ third holiest site—in an attempt to chase down Palestinian anti-occupation youth and suppress Muslims’ freedom of worship.
