3 Palestinians injured in Gaza night protests

Monday 4-March-2019

At least three Palestinians were injured on Sunday night as the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at dozens of peaceful protesters on Gaza border.

Spokesman for the Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qedra said that three Palestinian youths were injured by Israeli gunfire.

A local source told the PIC reporter that the Israeli forces heavily fired live ammunition and tear gas bombs at the protesters injuring three of them.

The Great March of Return’s night demonstrations were halted in November 2018 after Israel had vowed to ease the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip by expanding the fishing zone allowing Qatari financial aid into the enclave and offering other facilities.

Israel showed no commitment to the understandings reached under the auspices of Egypt Qatar and the United Nations so the night demonstrations were resumed weeks ago.

The Palestinian youths taking part in the night protests who also call themselves “night confusion units” usually fly fire balloons and kites over the border fence launch fireworks and chant national songs during the night.

The night confusion units say that their goal is to confuse the Israeli soldiers stationed at the border and keep them on permanent alert.
