A big number of Palestinians were injured on Tuesday when clashes erupted in Burqa town northwest of Nablus after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) used violence to disperse protest marches against a Jewish settlers’ provocative march.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported 79 injuries in the clashes including eleven with metal bullets and ten suffocation cases as a result of the IOF intensive firing of teargas canisters.
Earlier Tuesday the IOF closed all entrances to Burqa town to facilitate the entry of thousands of Jewish settlers to the evacuated illegal settlement of Homesh which was established on the village’s land.
Dozens of settlers in 50 buses stormed the town under IOF protection.
Israeli media sources claimed that 10000 settlers arrived at the evacuated outpost of Homesh in the area led by the MKs Itamar Ben Gvir Bezalel Smotrich and Idit Silman.
