Palestinian Authority (PA) president Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday ordered a halt to the release of harmful statements on the Palestinian reconciliation and threatened to take action against those who try to obstruct it.
According to WAFA news agency Abbas affirmed that he took his decision in order to protect the Palestinian national interests and the relations with Egypt stressing the need to immediately abide by his verdict in this regard.
Abbas took such step after Fatah cadres and officials made remarks that strained the atmosphere of reconciliation.
