Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday inaugurated the embassy of Palestine in Vatican City one year after the latter recognized the state of Palestine.
Abbas expressed hope to see more countries taking similar actions. He said that he held talks with Pope Francis about the peace process and Israeli-Palestinian peace conference to be held in Paris on Sunday.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also hoped that what has recently been published on the US president-elect Donald Trump’s intention to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem is untrue. He said that such a move will defiantly disrupt the peace process.
