“We are witnessing a historic moment on the road toward national reconciliation” political bureau member of Hamas Mousa Abu Marzouk said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of his visit to Moscow Abu Marzouk spoke out against the crackdowns perpetrated by the Palestinian Authority (PA) chaired by Mahmoud Abbas against the Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Hamas leader Husam Badran also said the Palestinian cause is given priority on the agenda of all Arab states adding that Hamas plays a key role in the anti-occupation struggle. He also mentioned that relations with Iran had faltered over the past two years but never severed.
A Hamas delegation led by Abu Marzouk arrived in Moscow on Tuesday to hold meetings with Russian officials.
