Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has reiterated his Movement’s keenness on achieving the national reconciliation and unity stressing that it offered considerable concessions for that purpose.
In an interview conducted with him by al-Aqsa satellite channel on Monday Abu Marzouk stated that “the Fatah Movement is not planning to take real steps towards reconciliation and its leadership insists on not honoring what has been agreed upon.”
He pointed out that Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas refuses to let the Palestinian Legislative Council convene or form a provisional leadership framework for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
The Hamas official affirmed that his Movement seeks to have national relations with all Palestinian factions and groups on the basis of serving the Palestinian people’s best interests.
He also highlighted the importance of having inter-Palestinian relations based on cooperation and solidarity in order to be more effective in confronting the Israeli occupation.
