The Hamas leader Nazih Abu Oun following his release from Israeli jails on Wednesday said that Palestinian prisoners are eagerly following the reconciliation news and waiting for national efforts to be unified to find solutions for the core Palestinian issues.
He told the PIC reporter that the prisoners are cautiously optimistic about the Palestinian Authority (PA) government’s visit to Gaza and hope that there will be quick solutions to the problems facing the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza including security coordination between the PA and Israel and political detention.
Abu Oun who was released on Wednesday after serving 8 months of administrative detention in Israeli jails affirmed that the internal division has negatively affected prisoners especially that the Israel Prison Service is holding the prisoners of each Palestinian faction in a separate section weakening the relations between the detainees.
Abu Oun who is from Jaba’ town in Jenin was arrested 14 times by the Israeli occupation forces spending nearly 18 years in Israeli jails.
