Jerusalemite activists have called for participating in a sit-in to be organized next Monday in solidarity with the residents of Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan district.
The sit-in will be staged outside the high court of justice in Occupied Jerusalem which is due to make a decision on whether to evict 86 Palestinian families from the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Batn al-Hawa in order to make way for Jewish settlers.
Hundreds of homes in six neighborhoods in Silwan district are threatened with either forced displacement in favor of Jewish settler groups or demolition at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
Over the past years the Israeli municipality in the occupied holy city delivered 6817 judicial and administrative demolition orders to Jerusalemite homeowners in different neighborhoods of Silwan in addition to eviction orders against homes in Batn al-Hawa.
