Administrative detainees prepare to start mass hunger strike

Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prisons on Tuesday refused to show up for count in protest at the Israeli policy of administrative detention.

According to the Commission of Detainees Affairs this refusal comes as a step in preparation to start a mass hunger strike at the end of 2022.

The Commission called on the Palestinian people and factions to intensify mass solidarity events in support of the Palestinian administrative detainees.

Meanwhile hunger striking Palestinian prisoner Khalil Al-Awawdeh 40 continues his hunger strike for the 83rd day in a row Tuesday while prisoner Raed Rayan 27 continues his hunger strike for the 48th day in a row in protest at their administrative detention.

Furthermore 500 administrative detainees continue to boycott Israeli courts for 144 days in a row.

Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by Israel against Palestinian activists to curb their influence.

Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prisons are preparing to start a mass hunger strike at the end of 2022 in protest at the Israeli policy of administrative detention.

Spokesperson of the Asra Media Center Amina al-Tawil said that Israel is confused and is increasing detention orders after the boycott of its courts. She added that Palestinian administrative detainees are ready to fight in a decisive battle against the illegal Israeli policy of administrative detention.

“Palestinian administrative detainees need considerable support while they confront the illegal policy of administrative detention” she affirmed.

Moreover the Hamas leader and ex-detainee Adnan Asfour said that Palestinian prisoners took a decisive decision to resist the administrative detention confirming that Palestinian prisoners will continue boycotting Israeli courts until the de-legitimization of such “oppressive” courts.

Palestinian administrative detainees have continued to boycott Israeli courts for the 136th day in a row without any reaction from the Israeli prison administration.

Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by Israel against Palestinian activists to curb their influence.
