Khalil al-Hayya a member of the political bureau of Hamas and head of its office for Arab and Islamic relations said that Israel’s repeated attacks on the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem aim to end the Palestinian and Islamic presence in the city and change its Islamic and Christian landmarks.
Al-Hayya’s was speaking on Thursday at the Iran-hosted international conference to support the Palestinian resistance that was attended by Iranian activists in the Palestinian issue as well as Iranian and foreign media representatives.
The Hamas delegation led by al-Hayya and grouping Osama Hamdan a leader in Hamas and Dr. Khaled Qaddoumi representative of the Movement in Tehran had arrived in Tehran on Wednesday.
The delegation participated in popular events on Palestine and held meetings with prominent Iranian officials topped by Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf.
The Hamas delegation also participated in a symposium honoring Iranian athletes who refused to compete with Zionist counterparts.
Al-Hayya underlined that steadfastness of the Palestinian people had foiled the Israeli schemes to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
He affirmed that the Palestinian people distinguish between Zionism the oppressive and colonialist movement and the Jewish religion.
Al-Hayya called on the Islamic nation and the whole world to actively participate in activities of the International Quds Day on Friday expressing thanks to Iran and its people leadership and government for their continuous support for the steadfastness and struggle of the Palestinians.
Al-Hayya stressed that the armed Palestinian resistance is stronger than ever and that after it inflicted successive defeats on the Israeli enemy in its wars on Gaza today it possesses power cards that make it in a stronger position than it was in previous wars.
